About Ukraine
Long plains, rolling hills, winding rivers, and bustling cities are common sites in the diverse land of Ukraine. Acting as a bridge between Europe and Asia, Ukraine is located in Eastern Europe on the northern shores of the Black Sea. Ukraine has a deep history and long-lasting culture spread among the countries lush landscape. Traditional culture is important to Ukrainians and found in their Orthodox religion, customs, and rituals. The colorful streets of Ukraine’s capital city, Kiev, demonstrate Ukrainian love of tradition and art.
Urban living is a popular choice of many Ukrainians which creates populous cities filled with activity. When you walk the streets of one of Ukraine’s 360[i] cities, you will find traditional folk Art, embroidery, and architecture are important aspects of Ukrainian culture. Unfortunately, it is also common for human trafficking and abuse to take place on those same city streets. The Ukrainians are determined, hard-working, and capable people who love their country despite the dangers they face.
